Abstract
Gemini Virus infection yellow leaf curl virus causes morphological damage such as leaf malformation, small leaves, curved leaves, and stunted plants, and affects the nitrogen content and leaf area of chili plants. The variation of symptoms is quite high so its measurement is quite difficult. The same thing with measuring the nitrogen content of plants can only be done in the laboratory. However, along with the development of digital technology, these measurements can be done directly in the field, including measuring the leaf area index of plants. The purpose of the study was to measure the severity of Gemini Virus disease symptoms, nitrogen content, and leaf area of chili plants infected with Gemini Viruses. Using the ImageJ Software application, samples of chili plants infected with Gemini Viruses were recorded randomly on chili plantations in the Muna and Buton Islands. The variables observed were the severity of Gemini Virus symptoms, nitrogen concentration, and leaf area of chili plants infected with Gemini Viruses. The results showed that there was a tendency that the higher the severity of Gemini Virus symptoms, the lower the nitrogen content and the smaller the leaf area index of chili plants.
