Abstract
Cantang grouper (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus >< Epinephelus lanceolatus) is one of the leading export commodities in Indonesia. The sustainability of cantang grouper farming must be supported by the availability of quality seeds. Efforts to produce cantang grouper fry can be carried out with proper maintenance of larvae. This study aims to determine the technical management of feed and water media in maintaining cantang grouper larvae. The type of feed used is natural feed and artificial feed with doses adjusted to the age of the larvae. The types of natural feed given to cantang grouper larvae are Nannochloropsis oculata, Rotifer, and Artemia sp. The range of water quality parameters, namely temperature 30.5-31 oC, pH 7.8-8.2, salinity 33-34 ppt, and DO 3.51-4.27 ppm is still optimal for maintaining cantang grouper larvae. Feed, and water quality management can support the development of canting grouper larvae with a Hatching Rate (HR) value of 48%-72% and a Survival Rate (SR) of 16%-18%.
